THE WEEPING PLANET
I, the planet am crying
I, the planet am sobbing
I am in tears
My caretaker has become my enemy
The Creator abandoned me in the wrong hands
I was fast asleep and it was too late when I woke up
I thought I was in safe hands little did l know doom was awaiting
My heart is bleeding wishing that the Creator can hear me
I can’t look at myself with pride anymore
Where is the ever flowing rivers that I used to have
The evergreen trees are that used to stand tall
The gigantic tropical rainforests
I thought the Sun was made to bring life on me
The used to be friendly sun is now an enemy
Scotching hot like a veldt fire
My nourisher is now my destructor
My heart is bleeding
Only if l knew this, l would have refused to be under human care,
My caretaker has become my enemy
Dirty air is now my everyday breath
The inner me is fading away slowly
I can’t stand the shame,
Innocent kids are dying with me
Innocent trees are cut, taken away from me every second ,and
In the name of development, wildlife is being misplaced hourly
They say the blessings of a child come from the parents
But you have proved to be reckless children to me
How can I give you rain,
How do you expect bumper harvests?
My blessings l have withdrawn,
The scorching sun, the late rains ,
The cyclones, the floods,
And the weak soils is
Are results of my tears
My heart is bleeding for that one child
Responsible and has me at heart
One child who can save me
One child who can uniquely stand out and save me
Restore my dignity OH child of the soil
I am angry for I know the doom that waits in the future
These might be the start of labour pains
Because I am a mother l do care
PLANT A TREE TODAY AND SAVE GENERATIONS .
