Charge Office Bus Terminus Clean-Up-Campaign

 In blog
In Partnership with the Scout Association of Zimbabwe.
The environment has become a scapegoat at the alters of human negligence. The environment has become tainted by human activities, central amongst these being land pollution. Whilst the municipality has been blamed for failure to deliver in refuse collection, citizens have responded by dumping waste anywhere grass grows. Used pampers have found their home in local township roads. Fast food containers such as kaylites and D70 material have been disposed anywhere the tummy has been filled, whilst cans and plastic bottles are disposed recklessly as soon as thirst is quenched.
Bus Terminuses find themselves as one of the major victims of human carelessness and negligence. Terminuses are characterised with a hype of activities that also equivalent to a hype of unmanaged waste. Most terminuses have become a selling hub of fresh produce, fruits, fast food and packaged food items yet there is no responsible appropriate disposal of used cans, rotten veggies, emptied plastic packaging. Environmental Buddies Zimbabwe Trust in conjunction with the Scouts Association of Zimbabwe launched a clean up campaign at Charge Office Bus Terminus. Whilst Environmental Buddies Zimbabwe Trust is popular for safeguarding the environment through afforestation, they have taken their love for the environment towards a clean and healthy environment.
As the old adages goes, “Don’t just give a man fish but teach him how to fish,”Environmental Buddies Zimbabwe Trust and the Scout Association of Zimbabwe did not just sweep the Charge Office Bus Terminus but engaged with people who make use of the facility on an awareness campaign. The organisation taught on the importance of appropriate practices of waste disposal and promoting a clean environment. Emphasized were the 3 ‘R’s of in managing waste; Reduce, Recycle and Reuse. Also cited are how recycling activities have become a viable business. Several organisations are currently recycling waste such as wires and cans, turning them into handicrafts for sale, whilst others recycle glass, paper, textiles and plastic material.

a few of the images aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a
linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same outcome.
